Ki Society Aikido. Aikido is a martial art that has its roots in samurai teachings. It is a circular art that uses joint locks to subdue or throws to project an opponent. Aikido uses the attacker’s energy and strength to our advantage. The correct application of Aikido techniques takes very little physical strength. Our style has a strong emphasis on the mental aspects of self defense. We practice relaxation in times of stress and non competitive outcomes of conflicts.
Shin-Shin Toitsu Aikido, or Ki-Aikido, is based on the teachings of Koichi Tohei Soushu, the founder of Ki-Society International (Ki No Kenkyukai). Midland Ki Society is an affiliate of Ki Society USA, based in Seattle Washington, and chief Instructor Koichi Kashiwaya Sensei. All Ki and Aikido ranking and teaching certificates are issued by Ki-Society Headquarters (Ki No Sato) in Japan.
Midland Ki Society is a Not-for-profit dojo.
